richard wilson

Richard travelled widely in Australia, New Zealand and Germany before settling in Dorset. His slipware pots are mostly functional with more recent sculptural forms, all brightly decorated in loose abstract patterns using brushes and sliptrailer on terracotta clay.

Guy’s ceramic birds have always been popular with our customers. Some relate closely to the original birds, others owe something to the artist’s imaginative understanding and observation. The surface is treated with slips and oxides to evoke plumage whilst retaining the subtle qualities of hand worked clay.
